LITTLE CHESTNUTS PRESCHOOL
ABOUT US

Children experience a broad and enriching curriculum that nurtures the skills they need to become confident, independent learners. The prime areas of learning sit at the heart of our practice because evidence shows that strong communication skills, together with secure personal, social and emotional development, form the essential foundations for positive future outcomes.

At Little Chestnuts Preschool, we value each child as an individual and encourage them to recognise and express these same values. Our aim is to create a happy, child‑centred and active learning environment where every child can progress at their own pace and achieve their full potential.
What do we offer?
Solid Foundations
'Conker' All!

Little Chestnuts Preschool is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children, and we expect every member of staff and all volunteers to share this commitment. Everyone working within our preschool must successfully complete the required safeguarding checks, including an enhanced DBS, before taking on any role involving children.

We have a comprehensive set of policies and procedures that underpin our safeguarding practice, including our Safeguarding Policy, which can be viewed and downloaded from our Policies & Procedures section.

We also provide ongoing training and support to all staff and volunteers to ensure they are confident, knowledgeable and well‑equipped to keep children safe. Our commitment to continuous improvement means we regularly review and update our policies and procedures in line with current legislation, statutory guidance and best practice.

Through ongoing professional development, we are committed to sustaining a team of highly qualified and knowledgeable practitioners. All of our staff have a strong understanding of child development and use their skills to inspire, challenge and support every child at Little Chestnuts Preschool.

The nursery is led by an experienced and highly qualified leader. Jodie Lucas (Nursery Manager/Director) holds an NPQML and NPQSL (National Professional Qualifications in Middle and Senior Leadership), a degree in Business and Marketing, and QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) in Primary Education.
