LITTLE CHESTNUTS PRESCHOOL

Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

What do we offer?

We are a fully inclusive organisation, committed to ensuring that every child has the opportunity to thrive and achieve the best possible outcomes, regardless of any additional needs they may have.

Across both of our settings, our waiting lists prioritise children with special educational needs, those who are looked after, and those experiencing significant disadvantage compared to their peers. This approach reflects our unwavering commitment to inclusion and our understanding that these children often require more time, support, and targeted intervention than their typically developing peers.

Over the last eight years, we have developed a strong reputation, in our community, for our work with children with SEND, with the progress they make clearly visible. Targeted intervention, delivered through additional adult support, sits at the heart of our offer because we know it leads to rapid and meaningful progress. Our team of experienced practitioners have supported children with needs ranging from emerging to highly complex, and regardless of a child’s starting point, the progress they make is consistently evident.

PARENT FEEDBACK

After removing my child from a previous setting where I felt he wasn’t receiving the support he needed, I found Little Chestnuts Preschool in Purfleet—a truly outstanding setting. It embraces an inclusive approach and ensures every child is seen, supported, and valued. The nursery manager - Jodie Lucas - brings a wealth of knowledge and experience, and the entire team is consistently attentive, thorough, and compassionate. My child, with additional needs has made remarkable developmental progress, thanks to the nursery’s exceptional and personalised care. The SEND provision is simply phenomenal. My child has developed a strong, trusting bond with his key worker – Cloe - and feels safe, supported, and understood. It’s clear that the staff are deeply committed to each child’s wellbeing and development. The setting has also been consistently prompt, proactive, and adaptable in introducing new adjustments to meet my child’s evolving needs. I would highly recommend this nursery to any parent or carer in the Purfleet area—especially those looking for a nurturing, inclusive, and supportive environment for a child with SEND.

I cannot thank the team enough for all they have done to support my child’s development and for the vital role they’ve played in preparing him for his transition to reception.
